Oppression

After working with CARITAS which provides shelter for homeless people, it was apparent that many people feel someone else’s hand controlling all the important moves in their life.  Spinning the tops for you instead of with you is a metaphor for subjugation and disheartening the spirit.  The painting is a plea to end the oppression.

Acrylic on canvas
